Introduction to Communications & Public Relations provides Community‑Based Organizations (CBOs) in the CVI space with a foundational understanding of how to communicate clearly, responsibly, and strategically. This training introduces the core concepts of communications and public relations (CPR), explains why they matter, and explores how effective messaging supports community trust, safety, funding, and organizational credibility.

- Identifying audiences, purpose, and key messages
- Ethical and safe storytelling in the CVI space
- Consent, confidentiality, and risk considerations
- Overview of common communication tools (social media, email, public speaking, websites)
- Intro‑level guidance on working with media and external visibility
- How communications support fundraising, partnerships, and sustainability
